Slang terms, meme names, and cultural references are used for informational and educational purposes under fair use principles.
8. Content sources and third-party material
Kluedin aggregates and analyses content from publicly available sources to identify trends relevant to parents. These sources include:
- Reddit — public posts from youth-oriented communities, accessed via Reddit's public JSON API in accordance with their API Terms
- Urban Dictionary — slang definitions from their public API, used for informational and educational purposes
- Know Your Meme — publicly available meme metadata, used for educational reference
- YouTube — publicly trending video titles via YouTube Data API v3, subject to Google's API Terms
- RSS feeds — publicly published feeds from internet safety organisations
All third-party content is:
- Accessed only through public APIs or publicly available web pages
- Used solely for the purpose of identifying trends and informing parents — not for commercial reproduction
- Summarised, transformed, and editorially processed by our systems before publication
- Not reproduced verbatim in bulk — individual items are analysed and rewritten for a parenting audience
We believe our use constitutes fair use / fair dealing under applicable copyright law, as it is transformative, non-commercial in nature relative to the original works, and serves a clear public interest in child safety. If you are a rights holder and believe content has been used inappropriately, please contact us at [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
9. User-submitted content
If you submit a tip or report via the community reporting feature, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, review, and act upon that submission for the purpose of improving the service. You confirm that your submission does not violate any third-party rights. We do not publish submissions verbatim without editorial review.
